Big Data and Analytics Come to Frozen Manufacturing
Timothy Freier, Division Vice President, Scientific Affairs & Microbiology Mérieux NutriSciences
Many sports fans know how the “Moneyball” revolution brought advanced data and information to pro sports. Come join us to hear how big data and analytics are making their way to the floor of your frozen food manufacturing plant.
Changes in regulations, increased customer and consumer scrutiny, and new technologies have led to increasing volumes of food safety data. Basic supplier verification data, ingredient and product testing, environmental monitoring results, as well as various types of statistical analysis are just some of the forms of data that manufacturing and food safety professionals have access to in 2018, but harnessing that data and using it to inform key decisions and investments can be a daunting task. However, the increasing focus that AFFI members are placing on food safety, and the resulting increase in testing and analysis means the pool of data to inform these choices has never been richer, or more useful.
AFFI-CON attendees are fortunate to hear from Timothy Freier, a Ph.D. microbiologist and Division Vice President, Scientific Affairs and Microbiology, North America, at Mérieux NutriSciences, and formerly Senior Director, Global Food Safety Innovation at Cargill. Tim has over 25 years of experience working in various food safety and quality-related positions in food facilities and in the microbiology lab.
This will be a highly valuable session focused on how to use your data to perform more effectively and efficiently, both in your facility and with your customers.
*Please note that some AFFI-CON events are only open to AFFI members.
